The cost of international calls depends on which prefix you put before the number you are calling. If you hold down 0 to get the + symbol (and in some instances dial international numbers stored in your phone's address book) you will be charged the dtac plus premium rate. The cheaper 004 standard rate will be charged if you dial 004 before the country code when making a call.
Other phone companies in Thailand operate international services using different international access codes, and using these instead of + or 004 will mean that you will be charged at different (sometimes cheaper) rates.
International text messages cost 8.56 baht (approx. 26c) to most countries.
This sim card can be used in a data-only device such as a tablet (like an Apple iPad) or an unlocked mobile broadband dongle. Data is charged at 2.14 baht (approx. 7c) per MB and uses dtac's high speed 3G network, which has speeds of up to 42Mbs.
