Calls to phone in France (both landlines and mobile phones) cost €0.19 per minute with a €0.15 call connection fee (flagfall).

Ortel Mobile has very cheap international calls (in many cases international calls are even cheaper than calls within France).

The above calls are subject to a €0.15 call connection fee (flagfall).

It costs €0.15 to send a text message to a mobile phone outside France.

Topping up your Ortel Mobile French SIM card

It is easy to top up online with refills available in denominations of €5, €10 and €20. You can also buy top-up vouchers at thousands of convenience stores, service stations, tabacs and newstands throughout France.

Please note that this is a French SIM card.
You can only buy credit at shops in France (although you can buy credit online if you have a euro credit card issued by a European bank - UK credit cards not valid). Although it is a great SIM for travelling in Europe, you should only buy this SIM if France is your first port of call in Europe and you should buy enough credit before leaving France to travel around Europe.

Is data available with this SIM card?

Unfortunately data is not available with the Ortel France SIM card.

Can I roam in other European countries with the Ortel France SIM card?

Like other European SIM cards, you can roam in other European Union countries cheaply. With Ortel it costs €0.42 per minute to receive a call and €0.13 per minute to call France when roaming in other European Union countries.

At the moment it is not possible to send SMS text messages while roaming outside France. This is something that Ortel is hoping to provide soon.

Please note, however, that roaming in non-European Countries (including European countries outside the EU such as Andorra or Switzerland) is expensive and best avoided.
