Purchase a US$ credit refill for T-Mobile USA so you can add extra credit to your SIM card before you arrive in the United States.
We will add credit to your T-Mobile SIM account for you. Please enter your USA number in the text box. If you have not activated your SIM yet, please write 'activate' in the box.
This credit refill comes added directly to your SIM. If you would prefer a voucher to add yourself, please let us know and we will obtain it for you within 1-2 days.
Please note that this credit is only valid for T-Mobile USA prepaid accounts including Pay As You Go and monthly prepaid plans. It does not work on other T-Mobile networks outside the United States (eg in Europe).
If you are on a monthly prepaid plan, you can add credit vouchers in any amount to cover the cost of your monthly plan. Your plan cost will be debited when you have enough credit to cover the plan cost.
So, for instance, if you are on the Unlimited Talk & Text plan (which costs $50/month) then the $50 payment will be deducted from credit that you have added to your account once you have reached $50.
Adding credit to your T-Mobile USA SIM
In most cases, we will add the credit directly to your SIM for you. This credit is available immediately.
There are several ways to redeem your refill voucher:
- Redeem your refill voucher online by going to http://www.t-mobile.com/Coupons/default.aspx?referrer=prepaidrefills and entering your T-Mobile USA mobile phone number and the PIN code on your refill voucher
- Call T-Mobile customer service on +1 877 778 2106 (you can call this number from any phone including from Australia)
- Call T-Mobile customer service on 611 (from your T-Mobile phone while you are in the USA)
- Enter *8646 into your mobile while you are in the USA and follow the instructions
Please note that your monthly prepaid plan will begin as soon as you have added sufficient credit to your account to cover the cost of your monthly plan. To avoid having your plan start early and expire before your trip has finished it is advisable to wait until the last minute (either the morning of your flight or the day before you travel) before redeeming your refill voucher.
Why does the credit cost more here in Australia?
The SIM cards that we sell now have enough credit to start using when you arrive in the USA.
Unfortunately, we must pass on the cost of any extra credit you would like to purchase, which comprises bank fees, credit card fees, handling fee.
Getting credit in the USA is easy and cheaper for you. Just pop into any pharmacy or convenience store and ask for a T-Mobile refill card. They will print you a receipt with a PIN which you enter into your phone. Easy. In most cases you will be charged sales tax, which varies from 6% to 11.5% from state to state. Oregon, New Hampshire and Delaware are states that have no sales tax, so buy up there!
