Electrical appliances

Travel electrical appliances need to work safely across different voltages and plug types — most countries outside Australia run on 220–240V, but some (including the USA, Japan, and parts of South America) use 110–120V. Dual-voltage appliances switch automatically between voltage ranges, making them safe to use worldwide with just a plug adaptor.

Travel Gear ships from our Charlestown NSW warehouse with fast delivery across Australia. For plug adaptors to use these appliances overseas, see our travel adaptors range.

Travel Electrical Appliances

  • Travel hair dryers: Compact foldaway dryers with dual-voltage switching. The Korjo foldaway hair dryer is a popular choice — lightweight, 1200W, and safe for use in 110V and 240V countries
  • Travel kettles and water boilers: Compact kettles for hotel rooms — useful in countries where tap water isn't safe to drink. The Korjo travel jug boils water quickly and folds flat for packing
  • Travel irons: Compact steam irons for keeping clothes presentable on business trips and extended travel

Voltage Safety

Always check your appliance's voltage rating before plugging in overseas. Dual-voltage appliances are marked 100–240V on the label — these are safe worldwide with a plug adaptor only. Single-voltage appliances (marked 240V only) require a voltage converter in 110V countries, not just an adaptor. Using a single-voltage appliance without a converter in a 110V country will damage the appliance and may cause a fire.
