Waterproof vs Water-Resistant

Water-resistant bags repel light rain but will eventually soak through. Waterproof bags (with roll-top closures or welded seams) keep contents dry even when submerged. For kayaking, rafting, and heavy rain, always use a genuinely waterproof dry sack rather than a water-resistant bag.
